In the mean time I replaced the display of my Casio CZ-5000 with a new one with blue background lighting. The instructions of how to replace the display I found at tanderud.se, and the needed display I ordered at ELV.de. The display comes with a data sheet showing the pins, which can also be downloaded here. Very important for the replacement are the following informations, that are not listed on the website, but are necessary for the display mentioned above:

1. Take pin 1 to 14 exactly from the original display, but put a 2.2 KiloOhm resistor into the line to pin 3 ( mine was a blue colored wire). This is for contrast regulation, otherwise you are not able to read the display correctly.

2. From pin 1 (-) a short circuit bridge (jumper) to pin 16 and from pin 2 (+) a 65 Ohm resistor to pin 15. This is necessary to avoid the backlight from beeing damaged.
